"The pastor is one of God's gifts to
His church to equip the members of the church to do the work of
ministry, as Paul says in Ephesians 4:12. The primary means by which
the role of the pastor is fulfilled is through the preaching and
teaching of God's Word, and by modeling the kind of servanthood
that honors Christ and ministers to the needs of people. The mission
of the church is to continue on earth what Christ began, and the
pastor is the servant leader who majors on seeing that the mission
of the church is carried out, both locally and worldwide."
